Ngân hàng trung ương Hàn Quốc (BOK) ngày 13/1 đã công bố chỉ số giá xuất nhập khẩu tháng 12 năm 2020. Theo đó, chỉ số giá xuất khẩu tháng trước ước tính đạt 92,19 điểm (lấy mức chuẩn 100 điểm năm 2015), giảm 0,1 điểm so với một tháng trước, xu hướng giảm 5 tháng liên tiếp kể từ tháng 8 năm 2020.
So với cùng kỳ năm 2019, giá xuất khẩu tháng 12 năm ngoái giảm 5,4%, ghi nhận đà giảm 19 tháng liên tiếp. Giá xuất khẩu năm 2020 giảm 5,3% so với một năm trước, mức giảm lớn nhất kể từ năm 2014 (giảm 6%).
BOK phân tích tỷ giá hối đoái won/USD giảm là nguyên nhân chính khiến giá xuất khẩu giảm. Tỷ giá hối đoái bình quân giữa đồng won và đô-la Mỹ đã giảm từ 1.116,76 won/1 USD của tháng 11 xuống còn 1.095,13 won/1 USD trong tháng 12, giảm 1,9% chỉ trong một tháng và giảm 6,9% so với cùng kỳ năm 2019. Ngoài ra, một nguyên nhân khác được cho là do dịch COVID-19 lan rộng toàn cầu khiến giá dầu quốc tế giảm.
Nếu loại bỏ ảnh hưởng của tỷ giá hối đoái và tính theo giá ngoại tệ trên hợp đồng, giá xuất khẩu tháng 12 tăng 1,6% so với tháng 11, song tổng giá xuất khẩu trong năm 2020 đã giảm tới 6,5%.
Mặt khác, chỉ số giá nhập khẩu năm 2020 giảm 8,7% so năm 2019, mức giảm sâu nhất kể từ năm 2015 (giảm 15,3%).
