Cơ quan chức năng Hàn Quốc đã phát hiện được một xác lợn rừng nhiễm dịch tả lợn châu Phi (ASF) ở khu vực thuộc huyện ven biển Yangyang, tỉnh Gangwon, gần núi Seorak (Tuyết Nhạc). Đây là một con cái nặng khoảng 70 kg, đã vượt khỏi hàng rào ngăn lợn rừng.
Trong vòng bán kính 10 km gần nơi phát hiện xác lợn rừng đang có 8 trang trại chăn nuôi lợn với tổng cộng hơn 20.300 con. Cơ quan phòng dịch đã tiến hành kiểm soát ra vào toàn bộ xe cộ chở gia súc, đồng thời đẩy mạnh khử trùng khu vực xung quanh các trang trại.
Ngoại trừ huyện Goseong, địa phương tiếp giáp biên giới liên Triều, đây là lần đầu tiên Hàn Quốc phát hiện xác lợn rừng nhiễm dịch tả lợn châu Phi ở khu vực duyên hải phía Đông. Nhiều ý kiến lo ngại rằng lợn rừng đang men theo dãy núi Baekdudaegan (Bạch Đầu đại cán) để đi xuống phía Nam.
Đặc biệt, cơ quan chức năng cũng đã phát hiện được xác lợn rừng nhiễm bệnh ở khu vực huyện Yeongwol, tận cùng phía Nam của tỉnh Gangwon, nên không thể loại trừ khả năng dịch bệnh sẽ lây lan thêm.
Chính quyền tỉnh Gangwon nhận định tình hình lây lan dịch tả lợn châu Phi đang hết sức nghiêm trọng, tỉnh sẽ triển khai các biện pháp phòng dịch quyết liệt nhất.
